How to deal with your hair after a workout

Sweating out at the gym during an intense workout can often feel very satisfying but how do you deal with your hair afterwards? Excessive amounts of sweat on the scalp is revealed to have damaging effects on the hair as it can cause hair to become dry. Take a look at these tips below:

1. Don’t shampoo every day – If you workout every day and shower afterward, it is recommended to simply rinse your hair with water and use shampoo only on specific days. Over-shampooing can dry the hair out.

2. Dry shampoo before work out – doing this will reduce the build-up of sweat on the scalp.

3. Don’t dry shampoo wet hair – Avoid using dry shampoo on wet hair as this will cause a cakey residue.

4. Don’t use elastic to tie back hair – using elastic to tightly bind up hair can result in breakage and split end. It is better by far to use ribbon elastics or scrunchies.
